Ethical Teacher
Practicum 5 goals
1. To give specific praise by linking praise to learning intentions, character values and student chosen goals. I will ask my associate teacher and visiting tutor to keep this goal in mind during observations and actively self reflect on this goal, in my practicum folder weekly.
2. To keep anecdotal records for all individual students. These will observations from class time and break times. These records will be kept in my folder and I will aim to use at least one anecdotal record to connect deeper with each child in my class. I will write up these exchanges in my folder.
3. To have high expectations for my students and as a result I will set challenging tasks. I will achieve this goal by knowing what my students are capable of and setting tasks that are both achievable and challenging. This will be highlighted in my planning.

Insights from practicum prep
1. Give students feedback that relates to the learning intentions I have set.
Giving intentional feedback based on the learning intentions shows students that the learning intentions are there for a purpose and that they can achieve those intentions. It will also mean I will be focusing on if students have met specific targets which will help in my assessment.
2. Have a system for keeping records and be specific about individual students.
During this practicum I will take anecdotal records on all aspects of students lives. My plan is to have a folder of class lists and always be checking of who has grasped the LIs and what students still need to work on. Having these records in one place will help when I am assessing and planning for future lessons.
